LG releases OLED display inspired by dragonfly's eyes
According to tomshardware, LG and its partners are preparing to release the game display with the third generation OLED panel later this month.
This is gratifying because LG launched a new OLED panel based on its latest meta technology at the recent CES 2023 Expo, which is only aimed at the home TV market.
The main attraction of LG meta technology OLED panels is that they provide "60% higher image and 30% wider viewing angle than traditional OLED displays."
This is mainly due to the use of "microlens array" (MLA) inspired by the dragonfly eye structure. In fact, MLA maximizes the light emission of OLED panel, and LG applies the "meta Booster" brightness enhancement algorithm.
Fortunately, LG has provided some performance statistics for its new meta-technology display to show their value from a certain perspective.
When it launched TV technology, it said that the brightness of the new display would reach 2100 nits. Combined with the dark black inherent in OLED panel, this will produce some extremely strong contrast statistics.
